LABST 014: Grievance Handling & Arbitration
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES: Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:
1. Analyze workplace disputes and be able to mediate conflicts between coworkers and management;
2. Demonstrate through written and oral reports an understanding of contractual grievance/arbitration procedures; and
3. Identify violations of the collective bargaining agreement, plan and carry out a strategy for resolution that follows procedural timelines.
4. Be able prepare witnesses to testify as a credible witness in a grievance arbitration hearing.

Unity as a means to problem solving! | Sure, there's a grievance procedure in that book called a contract, and it even provides for a neutral, 3rd party to hear matters with binding arbitration.
However, I would prefer a mobilized workforce any day. We need to organize to win, everyday. After all, aren't settlements best when reached close to their point of origin by the people directly involved?
