LABST 022: Labor Research Stratigies

We will survey different research strategies, sources and methods for labor and other community activists to find the information you need.

This class is usially offered in the Spring semester every other year and is a 3 unit elective in the Labor Studies certificate or AA degree programs.

    STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES: Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:

    1.       Identify sources of useful data to assist union leaders in organizing, bargaining and contract administration;

    2.       Conduct an oral history interview and properly document it;

    3.       Apply research techniques for written reports through use of the internet, libraries, achieves, documents and web pages; and   

    4.       Develop research and planning strategies to support union or organizational needs.
