Office of Research & Planning

 

Vision

The Research and Planning Office serves as a knowledgeable provider of accurate, unbiased, relevant, research-based information and a quality resource for planning, developing strategies and instituting solutions. The office serves as a support to individuals and groups who set policies and make decisions affecting Laney College

Mission 

The Office of Institutional Research and Planning is located within the Office of the President at Laney College. The mission of the Research and Planning Office at Laney College is to integrate and transform institutional data into tools that informs the decision-making, planning and evaluation processes of the college. The office also tracks, analyzes and reports information on key performance indicators to state and federal reporting agencies, internal and external constituencies and public-interest groups. The office routinely produces descriptive profiles of students and faculty; longitudinal studies of changing demographics; and, analytical reports of attrition and graduation rates.

 

Goals

  • Continually enhance the quality and usefulness of data and information collected, maintained, analyzed and delivered to the campus community.
  • Continually enhance the relevance of the office as a resource for research-based, analytical and longitudinal information by integrating knowledge about conditions and trends in higher education obtained from state and national community college communities, higher education researchers and other professional colleagues.
  • Continually utilize the Laney infrastructure to enhance the delivery of relevant data to Laney's various constituencies.
