John Reager holds Master of Music degrees in Composition and Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He is a former AGMA tenor with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. He performed the role of Remandado in Bizet's Carmen and was tenor soloist for the premier of Anthony Korf's "Requiem" both with the San Francisco Symphony. He performed the role of Tamino in Mozart's "The Magic Flute" at the San Francisco Conservatory. He has given solo recitals as a composer, tenor, pianist, and organist. His composition teachers include David Conte and Conrad Susa. Commissioned works include music for orchestra, chorus, chamber music and solo piano. He is published by G.I.A. Publications in Chicago. He has conducted choral works by: Dufay, Ockeghem, Josquin de Prez, Palestrina, Victoria, Salamone Rossi, Bach, Handel, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Faure, Britten, Messiaen, Stravinsky, Tavener, Lauridsen, Conte, as well as his own music. At Laney College since 2004, Mr. Reager directs the Laney College Choir and teaches Music History, Voice, and Piano.
