On-the-Spot Admission
Laney College Students can be admitted On-The-Spot to California State University, East Bay. Students must complete the General Education and Major Requirements before transfer and be in their last semester at Laney College. Please make an appointment with Mirella Medina at the Transfer center 510-464-3135.
Requirements for On-The Spot-Admissions
1. Apply to the university before hand on www.csumentor.edu .
2. Apply for fee waiver, pay fee on-line, or bring check to admission appointment.
3. Bring print out of application on date of on-the-spot admission appointment.
4. Bring unofficial transcripts from the Peralta Colleges to the appointment.
5. If a student has attended one or more colleges or universities outside of the Peralta College District, then the student must bring official transcripts from those other colleges or universities to the appointment.

Transfer Admission Guarntee (TAG) to CSU, East Bay
Guidelines for TAG Agreement
Students are eligible to participate in the TAG program once they have completed a minimum of 12 quarter/semester transferable units at a community college or university, are a California resident, and if they will have earned a cumulative GPA of 2.0 with at least 60 semester or 90 quarter transferable units by the time they transfer. Students must also be in good standing at the time of transfer, and must have completed transferable general education courses in English composition, speech, critical thinking, and mathematics with a grade of “C” or better. Although not a requirement of the program, students are encouraged to complete lower division major requirements while attending the community college.
TAG is not available for second bachelor's degree or impacted program applicants.
Students who do not transfer within 4 years, or those who transfer before the completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units, lose their TAG status.
Procedures
Student
- Initiates TAG with either their community college or CSUEB counselor
- Reviews and signs TAG form
- Submits TAG form to community college or CSUEB counselor
- Meets with Cal State East Bay counselor
- Takes form to University Library on the Hayward Hills campus or the Academic Services Lobby on the Concord campus to obtain a CSUEB photo identification card (must also present a government-issued identification card)
- Submits CSU Application for Admission during appropriate filing period
Community College Counselor
- Reviews document (with student)
- Indicates approval by signing form
- Submits form to Cal State East Bay counselor
Cal State East Bay Counselor
- Reviews form upon receipt from the community college
- Signs form or returns form for corrections
- Returns appropriate TAG form copies to the community college and the student
- Meets with student prior to transfer
